Dinner Tonight - Shwarma

For dinner tonight I am making shwarma! I am making Israeli salad and serving it with Pita and Chumus. I try to make a lot of the spice mixture in advance and keep it in my spice cabinet to make it a super easy and quick dinner. Enjoy!

Shwarma chicken:

2 tbs. cumin
1 tbs. coriander
1 tbs. garlic powder
1 tbs. onion powder
2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
4 chicken breasts - cut into strips
1 large onion - cut into strips
3 tbs. lemon juice
1/4 cup oil + 2 tbs oil

Mix all spices together. Place chicken and onion in a container with lemon juice 1/4 cup oil and 2 tbs spice mix. marinate for 30 minutes. Heat 2 tbs. oil in a heavy skillet. add the chicken and onions to pan and cook until golden and onions carmalized. turn over and add 2 more tbs. spice mix. Cook for a few minutes longer until no longer pink in center.
